Does ChatGPT recommend real estate agents?
When clients ask ChatGPT to recommend a real estate agent, it names specific businesses. We asked the questions clients really use, city by city, and recorded which real estate agents it names and where it gets its answers. Each city below has its own page with the full list.

Across 6 cities and 72 answers, the assistants named 114 different real estate agents, counted city by city, about 1.6 names per answer. That makes this a fragmented market: on average the most-named business appears in only 33% of a city's answers, so no single name dominates and the short list changes from question to question. The spread between cities is wide: in London the leader was named in 42% of answers, in Miami in 25%. A fragmented market is the easiest to enter and the hardest to hold: with no fixed leader, whichever real estate agents are best represented on the sources below get named that week.
ChatGPT and Gemini agreed on at least one real estate agent in 5 of 6 cities, more overlap than we see in most trades, so the leading real estate agents here are visible on both. For real estate agents the assistants leaned first on booking platforms and marketplaces and then directories and review sites, with realtrends.com and zillow.com cited most. No individual real estate agent website made the top sources: the assistants built these answers entirely from third parties. Before spending anything else, a real estate agent who wants to be named should be complete and consistent on those two.
Real estate is the trade where the assistants come closest to agreeing with each other: ChatGPT and Gemini named at least one agent in common in five of six cities, the highest overlap in our scans. The reason is that both read the same property portals and agent-ranking sites, with licensing registries such as the Dubai Land Department and state real-estate boards close behind, and the names they return are often individual agents or teams at a large brokerage rather than the brokerage itself. For an agent that means two things: a complete, reviewed profile on the portals your market uses, and a licence record that matches your name exactly, matter more than the brokerage's brand page.

How real estate agents get recommended by AI
AI assistants recommend the real estate agents they can find and trust. For real estate agents that means being listed and well reviewed on realtrends.com and zillow.com before anything else, and having pages that state plainly what you do and who you help. A real estate agent an assistant cannot find is one it cannot name; one it finds but ranks behind others is a different problem, covered in why your business might be invisible to AI.
