A Local Falcon alternative for checking your AI visibility

Last reviewed: October 2, 2026

Local Falcon is a local rank tracker built on geo-grids. It scans a grid of points around your business to show where you rank on Google Maps and Apple Maps, and it now runs the same grid scans on Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, ChatGPT and Grok. Plans start at $24.99 a month for 7,500 credits, as listed on 2 October 2026.

Peekl answers a narrower question with a different method: does AI recommend you when customers ask, and what should you change first. Its $99 one-time audit asks fifteen customer questions three times each on ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, then ranks up to 12 fixes.

If you manage map rankings for several locations or clients, Local Falcon is built for that. If you want one answer and a plan for your business, that is what Peekl does.

Choose Local Falcon if

You track map rankings and AI answers across many locations or clients, and want to see how results change from one part of town to another.

Choose Peekl if

You run one location and want to know whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude recommend you, who they name instead, and what to fix first.

What Local Falcon's AI visibility scans measure

An AI scan in Local Falcon takes one keyword, one platform and a grid around your address, and asks the assistant from each point on the grid. It reports three numbers: Share of AI Voice, how often you are mentioned; Average Rank Position, where you appear when you are; and a Buyer Persuasion Score, how positively the answer describes you. Reports also show which sources the assistant referenced. You can run one-off Quick Scans or Campaigns that repeat weekly, every two weeks or monthly.

Scans are paid in credits. One credit is one data point, so a 5 by 5 grid uses 25 credits for a single keyword on a single platform. Credits refill each billing cycle and unused ones expire, and new accounts get 100 free credits. Local Falcon also publishes research on local AI visibility; its study of real estate agents is one of the sources in our guide to local AI visibility, measured city by city. Everything on this page comes from Local Falcon's pricing page and knowledge base as we read them on 2 October 2026; we did not run a paid scan.

Grid points or customer questions

A geo-grid shows how the answer to one question changes from street to street. That matters most for a business whose customers search from many places, such as a plumber covering a wide area, and for an agency comparing many locations on the same keyword.

Answers also change with the question and from one run to the next. A customer asks for the best clinic, the nearest open one, the cheapest, the one that treats children, and the assistant can name different businesses each time. Peekl measures that variation instead. It does not scan from a grid of points; it checks your business the way customers in your town ask: fifteen questions written for your trade and town, each asked three times on each assistant, 135 answers in all, with every business named instead of you and every website the answers relied on. Both kinds of variation are real; the question is which one you need to see.

Which assistants each one checks

Local Falcon covers Google's AI surfaces well: AI Overviews, AI Mode and Gemini, plus ChatGPT and Grok. Claude and Perplexity were not on its list when we checked. Peekl's audit covers ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, and its free check runs on ChatGPT or Gemini. Peekl does not check AI Overviews, AI Mode, Grok or Perplexity.

If Google's AI results are where your customers find you, Local Falcon's coverage is a real advantage. If you want Claude included, or a plan that tells you what to fix rather than a map of where you rank, Peekl is the closer fit. The Gemini visibility checker shows what Peekl reports for Google's own assistant.

What a year costs

On Local Falcon's pricing page as read on 2 October 2026, the Starter plan costs $24.99 a month, about $300 a year, and higher plans run to $199.99 a month for more credits. How far the credits go depends on grid size, the number of keywords and platforms, and how often you scan, so check the credit cost of the scans you plan to run. Peekl's audit is $99 once; add the optional $39 monthly tracking and year one is $567.

For a team running weekly scans across locations, a credit plan is efficient. For one location that wants a single clear reading and a list of fixes, paying once is simpler. The AI visibility tools pricing guide compares the wider market.

Bar chart of twelve months at the entry price, list prices on 2 October 2026: Peekl audit once $99, Local Falcon Starter $299.88, Peekl audit plus 12 months of tracking $567.
Entry price over twelve months, as listed on each vendor's site on 2 October 2026, before tax. Local Falcon's figure is the plan price; what its credits cover depends on grid size and scan frequency.

What to look for in a Local Falcon alternative

If you are comparing Local Falcon alternatives, check first whether you still need geo-grid map tracking. Some owners keep a map tracker for Google Maps and add a separate check for AI answers, because the two measure different things: where you rank on a map, and whether an assistant names you in a short spoken list.

For the AI side, look for coverage of the assistants your customers use, repeated runs of each question, the websites behind every answer and a plan you can act on without an agency. Our comparison of AI visibility trackers and one-time checks puts them side by side.

Common questions

What is Local Falcon?
A local rank tracking platform that scans a grid of points around a business to show where it ranks on Google Maps and Apple Maps. Local Falcon's AI visibility scans run the same grid on AI platforms: Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, ChatGPT and Grok.
What is Share of AI Voice in Local Falcon?
Local Falcon's measure of how often your business is mentioned in AI answers across the points of a scan grid. It sits next to Average Rank Position, where you appear when mentioned, and a Buyer Persuasion Score for how positively you are described.
Does Local Falcon track Claude?
Claude was not among its AI platforms when we checked on 2 October 2026; it lists Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Gemini, ChatGPT and Grok. Peekl's audit checks Claude with ChatGPT and Gemini.
Is Local Falcon worth it for a single-location business?
It is if you want to watch map rankings and AI answers across your area on a schedule. If you mainly want to know whether AI recommends you and what to change, a one-time audit with a ranked plan is the smaller commitment.
Can I use Local Falcon and Peekl together?
Yes. Local Falcon can keep tracking your map rankings and Google's AI results by area, while Peekl's audit shows which competitors ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude name instead of you and which websites to get listed on.
